It’s time for you to

Care for Yourself While You Care for Others

The Work of a Hospice & Palliative Care Nurse can be Overwhelming

As a hospice and/or palliative care nurse, you carry a unique emotional and physical load. Caring for patients with serious illness and at the end of life is rewarding but can leave you feeling exhausted, stressed, and on the edge of burnout. You’re constantly giving, often without finding time to recharge. But taking care of yourself isn’t a luxury—it’s essential to providing sustainable, effective, and compassionate nursing care.

“I believe with all my heart that when nurses are supported and empowered, they take action on what they uniquely desire and need to take care of themselves. Their self care spills over into caring for their nursing community. Empowered, supported nurses create ripples of change that benefit their patients’ lives, and the entire healthcare system.”

I was a hospice and palliative care nurse for the last 17 years of my 40 year career.

I experienced what you may be going through now - a large caseload and  additonal duties on top of that.  Being virtual and not having to go into the office daily, I did not build relationships with colleagues as I had done in a previous hospice position. This made it harder to run things by my peers. I was so busy, I often felt I couldn’t take a break.  I knew something had to change. I took a deep breath and I got back to meditating and exercising regularly.  Imagery practices helped me tap into my intuition, and I was reminded on a deep level that nurses connecting and supporting each other is really important.  I used other nurturing practices as well.  My whole life changed.  When I practiced these tools, my work as a hospice and palliative care nurse was changed for the better, as did my personal life.

When it was time to move on from my nursing career, I knew what I wanted to do next - to share what I had discovered with other hospice and palliative care nurses. I started my business, Nurturing Nurses and from there, I developed my cornerstone program.

The Empowered Nurse Program

NURTURING | CONNECTING | RESILIENCY

This program is for Hospice and Palliative Care Nurses who want to learn how to take good care of themselves in a way that works uniquely for them. This happens in TENP with connection to like-minded hospice and palliative care nurses* who are looking for their own version of this.  Sound good?
